How will you push apps out to student devices?
Pushing apps to iPads is very similar to our current process. The new addition to this process is the idea of pushing an app to a device without an AppleID. In order to make this happen, another step is required. The video below demonstrates the deployment of an app. Part of this new model requires all schools to have an Apple Volume Purchasing Program Account. This is a website that your school will have exclusive access to for the purpose of "buying" apps. This allows schools to manage their own free apps without the need to contact CES.
Paid Apps
Paid apps will take two forms, District and School. District paid apps will be selected based on the need of WCPS. Supervisors will initiate the purchase of these apps and the apps will be pushed from CES. Student devices will simply receive them. If you feel that you have an amazing app that would benefit all, there will be a "Nominate an App" process. This will allow the district to aggregate data on great apps. All district wide paid apps will go through supervisors.
