Mobile Device Management (MDM)
The mobile device management system assists in the inventory aspect by tracking all devices assigned to your school by their serial number and barcode as well as giving you the ability to put in new apps on devices and add management restrictions (click here to see the list of restrictions) to optimize the instructional practice of the device. As part of your deployment strategy at least one person in your school needs to be responsible for the local management of devices. Usually the manager of the mobile device management system within your school is your technology coordinator. Responsibilities include:
- basic management of the MDM
- the physical inventory at the beginning and end of the year
- deployment of apps
- and guidance to classroom teachers for best practices.
